Coronado Shade is a 30 x 40 in. acrylic on canvas. This cityscape is in Coronado, California. The location is kitty corner to the Hotel Del Coronado, one of the most famous hotels in the country, the one that was featured in the movie Some Like it Hot. It is a beautiful location, with shops, restaurants, and a lovely fountain in the center. In this painting I was trying to capture the fantastic patterns of shading on the buildings and on the ground. The painting shows Belle walking down the street, doing her errands of the day. This painting is featured in the book, The Spirited Woman.
